Frequently Asked Questions

What languages do you work with?
We work from and into major (Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish) and minor European languages.

In what format do I have to send the document?
We work with all major file formats: DOC, XLS, RTF, PPT, PDF, HTML... A surcharge is applied for certain formats that require conversion (PDF) or are less easy to work with (PPT, HTML...).

What do you charge?
Our rates depend on the type of service (translation, review, glossaries..) and the language combination, as well as other factors such as the urgency of the request. If you would like information on our rates or would like a quote please email info@translatingfinance.co.uk with details of your project (files to be translated, desired deadline) and we'll be in touch promptly.

How can I be sure that my documents will be treated in strict confidence?
Given that we regularly deal with highly confidential material such as annual reports of listed companies prior to publication, strict confidentiality can be taken as read. Nevertheless, for your peace of mind we will happily sign any non-disclosure / confidentiality agreement upon request. We are also happy to use PGP for all email transfers.

How do I know what the translation will cost?
Prior to each project, an offer will be made with a firm deadline. If you would like a quote please email info@translatingfinance.co.uk with details of your project (files to be translated, desired deadline) and we'll be in touch promptly.

Who will translate my documentation?
The translation of your documentation will be handled by a financial specialist with a profile that matches the type of documentation as closely as possible. All our translators are university graduates, be that in economics, management or translation, and only work into their mother tongues. Moreover, they all have at least three years of experience in the translation of financial material.

We use a lot of company-specific terminology. How will this be integrated into your translations?
Our project manager will, in addition to the documentation to be translated, ask you to supply any other necessary information: reference documents, previous translations (if satisfactory), glossaries, etc. to ensure maximum consistency and quality. We can create specialised glossaries using your existing documentation or in line with your instructions. We also use translation memory tools that enable the translator to be consistent with previous translations in terms of style and terminology.

Regardless of your financial translation requirements, feel free to email info@translatingfinance.co.uk with details of your project (files to be translated, desired deadline) and we'll be in touch promptly. We look forward to working with you.
